Benefits of shea butter
Shea butter benefits are all over the net, and It’s no secret shea butter is one of my favorite natural moisturizers.
Infact it made my top 3 moisturizers list;

I am going to tell you what are the main benefits of shea butter and how to use it properly.
She butter comes from a special tree in africa. The butter comes from milling or cold pressing the nut of this tree.
Shea butter benefits for skin
The benefits of shea butter for skin come in two forms. Firstly shea butter is full of fatty acids which are great for forming a barrier on top of the skin. This barrier prevents moisture escaping from the skin. Secondly, Shea butter has high levels of vitamins A and E which are tremendously beneficial for the general health of the skin. Although little research has been done on the specific benefits of shea butter apart from moisturizing, it is likely shea butter will help dermatitis, acne and wound healing; based on its high levels of vitamins and other nutrients.
So how to get most benefit from shea butter for your skin?
I would advise applying good quality shea butter after bathing or showering. Being high in fatty acids, shea butter is brilliant for “sealing in” moisture in the skin, so it makes sense to put it on after showering when the skin is well hydrated.
I would be cautious of applying shea butter to the face if you are prone to spots. There is potential for the shea butter to plug the pores and worsen breakouts.
Which shea butter should you buy?
The best form of shea butter is unrefined and organic shea butter. Some makers add fragrances and other chemicals. I would avoid these.
There are some suggestions certain shea butter types are higher in vitamins than others. Shea butter of Ghanian origin has been mentioned as one of these.
Till next time
Many thanks
I have used Shea butter on my face years ago when I was an outside labourer. I shoveled snow during storms and in very very cold weather, and shea butter kept my skin moist and over time made it so even toned and clear. I can’t do that now as I am a chef now and work over a hot greasy stove and fryer. I have to use vinegar to clean the flat top griddle every day and the vinegar steam i am sure is damaging.
